Tiling Town takes the spotlight at Cersaie 2025

(October 2025) Tiling Town, a unique event in the world of tile installation held this year in its new location in Hall 19, proved to be one of the most popular and interesting theme areas at the 42nd edition of Cersaie. Its success was based on four key principles embraced by Assoposa Chairman Luca Berardo and Chairman of Confindustria Ceramica’s Tile Laying Commission Andrea Ligabue.

Uniqueness. No other ceramic tile or building sector exhibition anywhere in the world features such a large space devoted entirely to installation. This year’s Tiling Town occupied a total area of more than 10,000 square metres and hosted 41 companies, including major international brands and Italian multinationals. Another key aspect of the hall was its striking visual identity. Whereas last year’s event celebrated its tenth anniversary with graphic designs inspired by Futurist artist Fortunato Depero, this year’s edition used superheroes to symbolise the skill and expertise that professional tile layers require to create perfectly installed ceramic surfaces in residential and non-residential spaces.

A hands-on experience. Tiling Town embraces experiential marketing, inviting master tile layers to demonstrate key stages of the installation process and share their insights and secrets of the trade. In this year’s Cersaie World Tiling Lab, young professionals from Italy, Switzerland, Denmark and Brazil competed to create four different tile installations: a bathroom with shower niche, a living area with fireplace and staircase, an outdoor kitchen and tabletop, and an external façade integrated with a raised floor system. 

A focus on young people. Tiling Town maintains a strong focus on training and on the future generation of industry professionals. The Italian national construction training body Formedil brought several dozen building school students from across Italy to Cersaie; the Assoposa information desk provided information about careers and upcoming training courses; and a roundtable involving all the associations representing floor coverings called unanimously for a standard recognising the professional figure and skills of the tile installer as a guarantee of quality for end customers. 

Relationships and strategies. Tiling Town is also a hub of institutional relations. In particular, the meeting on 24 September with the ten most important tile installation associations in Europe, North and South America and Africa underscored the importance of shared dialogue on key industry topics. The event explored the issue of workplace safety in the company of legal experts and representatives of trade bodies and discussed strategies for promoting ceramic products together with some of the most important national distributors. This initiative further underscored Cersaie’s status as the sector’s most representative and well-attended event and as a key venue for addressing the industry’s future strategies. 

To paraphrase Enzo Ferrari, one of Modena’s most famous sons, the most important edition of Tiling Town will be the next one.
