The Italian ceramic industry 08 January 2025 Sectors, Companies, and Statistics The Italian ceramic industry consists of 6 different sectors: ceramic tiles, bricks, refractories, sanitary ware, tableware and technical ceramics. There are a total of 248 companies in Italy, employing 26,211 direct workers and billing more than 7.5 billion euros. Production internationalization in Europe and North America, by companies controlled by Italian ceramics, is close to 1 billion euros in turnover (data 2024). Confindustria Ceramica since the 1970s, through its Study Center, has produced annual Surveys initially on the ceramic tile sector and later also on the other sectors that have gradually joined the Association. The Surveys are flanked by other studies containing various types of data sometimes initiated to learn about and address specific issues and some useful tools with data on international markets.
