It is easy to say ‘Italian ceramics’, but the reality is that this expression refers to a vast and complex world, rich in peculiarities and with a thousand facets and variations. 

Just consider that Italian ceramics production has its origins in a thousand-year-old tradition of expertise in ceramics making, and that industrial production is nothing more than the development of that history.
Furthermore, Italian ceramics encompasses a variety of products with different uses: from ceramic tiles, used in construction, architecture and interior design, to bricks, which are the basic elements of buildings, to sanitary ware, tableware and decorative ceramics for interiors. The picture is completed by specific complementary ceramic products such as refractory materials and technical ceramics.
