There is strong focus among manufacturers on training in the installation of ceramic surfaces.
Ceramic products achieve their best technical performance and aesthetic quality when installation is carried out to a high professional standard by skilled and qualified installers. This applies both in the private sector and, even more so, in the public sector, where buildings are used by the wider community.
In this context, Confindustria Ceramica has contributed to the revision of the new “Minimum Environmental Criteria for the procurement of design and execution services for construction works” (commonly referred to as CAM), which now include a rewarding criterion related to the technical competence of installers.
Since 2019, the Association has established a dedicated Commission on installation issues and has signed a three-year agreement with Assoposa, providing support for the organisation of training courses for installers and initiatives with Italian distributors, as well as contributing to the creation of the Città della Posa at Cersaie and to promotional activities for ceramic products in Italy and abroad. Under the new agreement, Confindustria Ceramica has become a supporting member of Assoposa and has joined its Board of Directors.
In collaboration with Assoposa, Confindustria Ceramica has also produced a series of five short videos on large-format tiles, offering practical advice for safe installation. This series complements “XXL Tiles, the future is now”, a video filmed on a real construction site in the historic centre of Rome.
